Seasonal Blog Content: Planning Shopify Posts Around Buying Peaks

1 min read

Search demand for almost every product rises and falls through the year. Gifts spike before the holidays, swimwear before summer, coats before winter. The mistake stores make is publishing seasonal content during the season — by then, the posts that will rank are already months old and indexed.

The timing rule

Publish seasonal content 4–8 weeks before the peak. Search engines need time to crawl, index, and start ranking a page. A gift guide published in mid-November is competing from behind. The same guide published in early October has time to climb before demand arrives.

Build a simple calendar

You do not need a complex system. List the moments that matter to your products across the year:

Then work backwards. For each moment, note the post you want live and the date to publish it — roughly a month or two ahead.

What to write

Reuse every year

Seasonal posts are an asset that compounds. Update last year's guide with fresh products and a current date, and it ranks faster each cycle because it already has history.

The shortcut

SEO Bison lets you plan and schedule posts ahead of time, so you can line up a season's worth of content and let it publish on the right dates automatically — catching each buying peak while your competitors are still writing.
